Why Does God Permit Evil to Occur

Ponder this. Why would God permit evil to occur? Why does He allow bad things to happen to good people? Why doesn't He intercede when innocent people are unjustly accused?
These questions sometimes cause good people to turn their face away from God and question the very existence of God. But God does exist, and He does permit evil.
Why, you ask? The short answer is that God permits evil to bring about a greater good.
Think about this. The greatest evil ever committed is the killing of our God, Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity. From this great evil came the greatest good, the opening of the gates of Heaven. That's right, Heaven did not open until Christ shed His blood for us.
We must always trust God's plan for our salvation, especially when hard times fall upon us. Pray, trust, and persevere in good times and bad.
