Where Is That In the Bible?

Ponder this. Many believe that the Bible is the only source of the Word of God, and the Bible is God's Word, every bit of it. The Bible is the written Word of God. However, the Bible is not dictated in real time. It was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit.
In the New Testament, for example, these inspired words captured only some of what Jesus said and did, but not everything—and this is stated in the Bible. Most of what Jesus said and did was handed down by His apostles verbally. This is called Sacred Tradition, the oral transmission of the words and works of Christ. In fact, through Sacred Tradition, the Scriptures came into being. After all, the Bible did not drop out of the skies.
Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition form one source of the Word of God. Next time someone asks you, “Where is that in the Bible?” you might respond, “It’s been handed down via Sacred Tradition, just as were all the words and works of Christ.”
