216 - What Gifts Do You Bring

Ponder this. Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you. This is what St. Peter said to a lame beggar in Sacred Scripture. This begs the question: What do each one of us possess that we can share with others? Many of us, like St. Peter, do not have vast amounts of cash lying around waiting for us to spend.

But God has given each one of us gifts, gifts to serve His purpose, His holy will under heaven. It's the reason God created us, to serve Him and to serve others. So what are your gifts, and how are you using them?

You may be a doctor, a carpenter, a chef, or an engineer. Whatever your profession, do you practice it with love for others and for God? Many of us are mothers or fathers, teachers or preachers, nurses or caretakers. Do we go about our daily lives praising God through our service to others?

Everything we do can be a prayer to God if we offer all of our gifts and actions to the Glory of God.
