85 - We Are Created To Work

Ponder this. God is intentional in everything He does, even in creating the universe and every creature living in it. God has intentionally put us on this earth for a reason. He created the first man, Adam, and placed him in a garden of paradise to till the soil. In other words, God put Adam to work right away.

God wants us all to work, whether it's at home raising children, changing diapers, and fixing meals. That is what God wants you to do: care for your family. He also puts people to work in restaurants, convenience stores, hair salons, gas stations, and all other commercial enterprises so that we can provide for ourselves and our families.

God could have created a world where we didn’t have to work to make a living, but He didn’t. He could have provided everything we need at any time with the snap of a finger, but He didn’t. He created us to know Him, love Him, and serve Him, and He asks us to do this while, and through, tilling the soil—in other words, working.

Let’s get back to work and serve God and one another with every fiber of our being.
