192 - The Way, the Truth, & the Life

Ponder this. We have all heard the well-known verse from sacred scripture: I'm the way, the truth, and the life. Most of us understand the Lord's way, which is the way of the cross, and the Lord's truth, because the Lord is truth Himself. But what does it mean that He's the life? Let's face it, even people who are atheists have life. So what is meant by this?

Thankfully, the Lord further says in the Gospel of John that unless you eat His flesh and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Meaning no Jesus in you. These are His words, not mine. Where can we find this flesh and blood that Jesus speaks of?

We find His true body, blood, soul, and divinity in every tabernacle in every Catholic church. Of course, to consume the life, you must be a practicing Catholic in the state of grace. If you consume Him unworthily, not a Catholic in the state of grace, the Bible also talks about the consequences.

Jesus is our life, and we can have Him live in us by receiving Holy Communion in the state of grace. Let's discover Jesus' life in us by seeking to live a truly Catholic life.
