Ponder this. In any job we have, receiving a promotion is always something we work hard to achieve. Being recognized for our work and accomplishments is a great honor. Receiving glowing performance reviews is always encouraging, and moving up in an organization signifies that we have the confidence of those in authority over us.

Just like in the workplace, God has a performance plan for us here on Earth. His primary goal for us is to make it to Heaven and to take along with us as many people as we can. In the end, we hope to receive the ultimate promotion: eternity in Heaven.

We can achieve this as long as we live according to His performance plan. When we continue to perform well in God’s plan, we grow closer to our heavenly promotion.

We are each called to live according to God’s performance plan, which is His Holy Will. This is accomplished by following His commandments—all of them, all ten of them—and by following the teachings of His Church. If we do this, we can anticipate an eternal promotion: a heavenly reward.
