Ponder this. Do you ever question the existence of God? Perhaps you don't even believe there is a God. After all, you might argue, if there really is a God, why does He allow evil to happen? Why do innocent children get sick and die? Why do bad things happen to good people? These are questions that could bring someone to question the very existence of God.

The truth is, God does permit bad things to happen. Why would a good God do this? Simply put, God allows suffering in order for us to obtain a greater good, just like the suffering of Christ on the cross obtained for us eternal life. You see, when God came to earth as man, Jesus Christ, He showed us the way to live and the way to live forever. His life is one we must follow to have eternal life.

Unfortunately for us, God chose the path of suffering for us to follow Him and to gain heaven. Suffering can be joyful when we unite our suffering to that of Jesus Christ
