The Guardrails of Life – The Commandments

Ponder this. The commandments of the Lord. There are 10 official ones given to us by God through Moses, but there are also so many others that are actually embedded within this list of 10. For example, did you know that gossip and slander are a part of Commandment Number Nine? Or that abortion and aiding in an abortion is a sin against Commandment Number Five?
Many no longer know or believe that the commandments of God are still valid and that somehow they have expired. But they are more applicable in our times today, as we navigate these uncharted waters of modern life. The commandments are like guardrails of life. You know, the guardrails that keep our cars from careening off a tall bridge. They are there to keep us safe and provide us with limitations to our lives that actually make us and keep us free, and keep us in the friendship of Christ.
