Ponder this. Many of us love an exhilarating roller coaster ride. The deep plunges down hills cause butterflies in our stomachs. We get excited as the coaster climbs a steep hill, hovering at the top before zooming down the crazy track—until the end of the ride, when we're all safely back in the station.
This roller coaster is fun at an amusement park, but not when we're riding it in the stock market. During times of financial uncertainty, the stock market can be a frightening place to be. Your investments are at risk, and your financial future may seem bleak.
But there is an investment much more valuable than your stock portfolio, your money and savings, or the equity in your home: the investment in your spiritual health. It can ride out the storms in any of the other areas of your life.
Are you making regular deposits in your spiritual health account? Increase the value of your spiritual life through daily prayer and acts of kindness to one another.
And for Catholics, receiving the Eucharist often, with a pure heart and soul through sacramental confession, is rocket fuel for the soul.
