160 - Some Things Require A Conversation

Ponder this. Our thumbs are very busy appendages in these modern times; they are the key to easy and quick conversations with others. Texting has become a primary mode of communication, and it definitely has its advantages. We can let others know if we will be arriving late to meet them. We can update them on the status of our health or the health of others. We can ask quick favors of them.

Texting, emailing, and social media posts allow us to communicate efficiently, for sure. However, some things actually are better conveyed through a real conversation—you know, talking on the phone or in person. If you are in any type of electronic discussion where a back-and-forth dialog is needed, it might be best to pick up the phone and talk. Talking is the best way to avoid misunderstandings, and if your discussion is somewhat heated, it's better to talk through it with others.

Don't take the easy way out with a text. Although often difficult to muster the courage for a real-life discussion, do it anyway. It builds character.
