138 - She Forgot Her Eggs

Ponder this. I was in the checkout line in a grocery store with my items on the conveyor, waiting for the customer ahead of me to complete her transaction. After she left with her groceries, I noticed that a dozen eggs I thought she had purchased were left behind. I mentioned this to the clerk, and he said that she had changed her mind. I then remembered that as she was checking out, she looked at me and said the eggs were $5 a dozen. She obviously had second thoughts about paying that much for 12 eggs, and she probably couldn't afford it.

I've witnessed a similar scene at the gas pumps with customers putting in five or ten dollars’ worth of gas and not filling their tank. We must always remember that many people have to struggle to make ends meet, and where every dollar matters. As the Bible states, those who have been given much, much more is expected of them. Helping others from your heart in small ways each day, like buying a needed dozen eggs or a couple of gallons of gas for those less fortunate, is an offering to God.
