Ponder this. We've all read the sometimes ridiculous warning labels on appliances, like “Do not dry your hair while bathing” or “Do not iron your clothes while wearing them.” Often, these warning labels seem silly, but they are intended to protect us from our own stupidity.
Did you know God also put warning labels for all of us to follow? If we heed His warnings, we are blessed. If His warnings are ignored, we may suffer the consequences. Take God's gift of sexuality, for example. It's just that—a gift—but God intended this gift to be used by one man and one woman within the covenant of marriage.
We may be thinking this command of His is surely outdated. In reality, God has always known what is best for us, and this is why He put warning labels on our actions. As we often do, we take the great things that God gives us and use them in ways not intended for their use, just like using a hair dryer in the bathtub. When we do this, we may suffer serious consequences.
Get to know God’s warning labels by reading the Word of God and following the teachings of the Church.
