55- Pre-Occupied With God

Ponder this. It is not unusual for us to dwell on negative things that happen in our lives. Maybe we've heard rumors of unkind things said about us. Perhaps we've been disciplined at work, school, or at home. Or maybe we've been diagnosed with a serious health condition.

All of these things can weigh heavily on our minds, and we tend to dwell on them. Becoming preoccupied with disturbing thoughts can be a burden on both our mind and spirit.

Focusing on the negative things that happen to us never benefits us and never changes what has happened. We know God is always with us, but sometimes we forget to give Him all that burdens us.

Instead of dwelling on the negative, replace those thoughts with a prayer, asking God to occupy your mind and your heart. Ask the Lord to help you accept His will for you each day. Preoccupy your mind with God alone, and He will bring you peace.
