Pray, Sleep, and Don't Take the Tag Off Your Pillow

Ponder this. One of the most frightening things I remember as a child was the thought that I might accidentally remove a tag from my pillow. Remember the warning? Do not remove under penalty of law. The idea of being put in jail for removing that tag would keep me up at night.
This begs the question: What keeps you up at night? Losing sleep because of our worries takes valuable time away from the good rest we need to function on all cylinders the next day.
How do you stop your thought-induced insomnia? Here's a recipe you might try:
First, say a prayer to the Lord, like: "God, help me stop worrying and start sleeping."
Next, tell yourself that worrying produces no results. In fact, worrying often begets more worrying.
Finally, remind yourself that you will deal with whatever is weighing you down in the morning.
Three easy steps to a restful sleep. Calling on Almighty God to help with problems big and small is the Lord's specialty. As He told us in Jeremiah: "Call on Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things which you do not know."
Try this recipe for sleep. But whatever you do, don’t remove the tag from your pillow.
