29 - Offer It Up for the Lord

Ponder this. We all do things we shouldn’t do. We may talk about others unkindly. We may tell little lies to avoid conflicts. We may cheat on a test or fudge a little on our taxes and time cards. Yes, we are all usually guilty of these so-called minor infractions.

These minor infractions are ways we offend God. Dare I call them sins? Sins are offenses against God, and they impair our relationship with Him. Although you may be thinking that these actions are really small, how can God possibly be offended? He wants us all to be good all of the time.

How do we get back in good graces with God after we displease Him? One thing we all can do is to atone for our sins. Making little sacrifices throughout the day is one way to do this. Skip your morning coffee and offer it up for the Lord. Do something unexpectedly kind for a co-worker and offer it up to the Lord. Order a glass of water instead of a beer or wine, and offer it up to the Lord.

Begin today, in small ways, to mend your relationship with God for having offended Him. Remind yourself daily to offer it up for the Lord.
