Ponder this. Our bodies let us know when we are hungry and need to eat. Our stomachs may growl. We may become dizzy and light-headed, and our energy becomes low. Often, we become tired and grumpy. Our thoughts turn to food and how soon we can satisfy our hunger.
Just like our hungry bodies, our souls also get hungry every day. A hungry soul often feels lonely, depressed, angry, agitated, and out of sorts. We must feed our souls to restore them to a healthy state. Every person has a soul that needs daily nourishment.
We find nourishment by spending quiet moments in prayer, reading Sacred Scripture, and simply talking to God. These quiet moments allow you to hear the voice of God and respond to His call for you. God will give you direction each and every day when you spend time with Him.
Take time each and every day to nourish your soul and strengthen your relationship with God. Quiet moments alone with the Lord are sure to relieve the spiritual hunger pains in your life.
