Ponder this. The two great commandments are to love God and to love your neighbor, and your neighbor means virtually everybody else in the whole world. Is this even possible?

Let’s examine how good we are at loving our neighbor. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I get aggravated with others easily?

  • Am I quick to judge the behavior of others?

  • Do I look for ways to retaliate when I’ve been wronged by others?

  • Do I hold grudges?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have some work to do in loving your neighbor.

It’s really quite simple to turn yourself into the loving person the Lord has commanded you to be. With everyone you come in contact with. Even those crazy drivers out there, ask yourself what you can do to make their day a little bit better. Give aggravating drivers more lane space. Greet people with a smile as you walk by. Open a door for others. Offer a helping hand to those in need, especially the elderly.

There are so many ways we can bring love and joy into the lives of each person we meet. Try today to love your neighbor a little bit more.
