Ponder this. Recently, there seems to be a significant increase in acts of violence, both in our words and actions. In our country, we are horrified at the mass shootings that seem to occur on a regular basis. Now, many no longer express themselves in a civil manner, but those who have a different perspective than theirs.

How do we stop the rampant killing of others, especially our innocent neighbors? Many cry out for more legislation, more gun control, less police on our street. But let's face facts, the solutions lie in the changing of our hearts.

So what can we do today to change our country? It starts with you. Let's work on loving those who look, think, and act differently from us. Love them by talking kindly with them and about them. Smile at strangers and say hello.

We must learn to love God and those He has placed in our lives more and more each day. Let's work on our hearts, because no amount of legislation can change a hardened heart.
