Ponder this. We have received 10 Commandments from our Lord. Did you know that they still apply today? Yep, there was no expiration date on that tablet of stone given to us by God.
Let's look at the third commandment: Keep holy the Sabbath. In simple terms, this means that we should serve the Lord on Sundays and avoid unnecessary work. But that’s a day when many of us play catch-up. We catch up on our housework, our yard work, our homework, and our work work. Taking a whole day to keep holy seems like an unreasonable request in this day and age, but if we try, we can always do better.
First, plan to attend Holy Mass or church to worship the Lord. Next, think about spending time with your family and friends and sharing a meal with them. You might consider visiting the sick and the elderly, or helping others who are less fortunate. Maybe reach out to a family member or a friend who’s having a rough time and give them an ear or a hand.
There are so many ways to serve the Lord on Sunday. Plan to incorporate a little holiness in your Sunday activities. The Lord will surely bless you in abundance.
