127 - Gather the Facts

Ponder this. Have you ever been in a discussion, aka argument, and have passionately conveyed your view, only to find out later that your view contained a flaw or two? Often, we come up with our positions on highly heated and controversial subjects with limited information. Perhaps you heard from a trusted friend or a reliable news source that convinced you to take this righteous stand.

Take the war in Iraq, for example. Many who supported this war, in hindsight, see it from a different lens. Today, the news and the talk is all about standing with Ukraine, with Ukrainian flags flying in front of homes and businesses. Surely standing with Ukraine must be a righteous position, whatever the issue.

It is wise to stop and think about things involving life and death. Perhaps we should pause, gather more information, and pray. Ask the Lord to guide you, to gather all the facts, and to draw a conclusion consistent with the will of God. And if we find we have erred, admitting we are wrong is a very humbling act.
