Ponder this. If you've lived over 50 years, you probably have noticed that our country is changing in a revolutionary sort of way. The days of Leave It to Beaver are long gone. In those days, there was an order to family life, not to say that all was bliss, but parents generally were the role models for their children on how to become adults with character, honor, and decency.

Today, many leave their fundamental duty of family to others. We expect our schools, our daycares, and our government programs to help raise our children as we pursue our individual interests. How has that worked out for us so far? Our families are broken, our marriages are broken, our society suffers.

To have the greatest impact on others, we must first fortify our families. We must put the needs of our spouses and our children at the forefront each and every day, even if it is a sacrifice to our own personal endeavors. Placing others first, especially our family, will have eternal rewards.
