18 - Everything We Have Belongs to God

Ponder this. Stop for a moment and take a quick mental inventory of everything you own. Maybe you own a home, a car or two, furniture, art, clothes, jewelry, musical instruments, books, and the list goes on and on. Include in your inventory any money you have in the bank, investments, and retirement accounts. Perhaps you own a business or an interest in one. Count it.

Now that you've taken this mental inventory, say a prayer of thanksgiving for all that God has entrusted to your care. That's right! God has given you everything you have, and everything you have belongs to God. God, in His infinite wisdom, has placed His confidence in you to make use of everything you own to better serve Him.

If we see our possessions as God's possessions, we may better understand what God is calling us to do with them. We are called to share our gifts with others, especially with those who are in need.
