Ponder this. A dear friend of mine lived a long life, reaching nearly 90 years of age. He was an engineer who loved his profession and worked up until the day he died. He would often tell people who commented about his age that he no longer buys green bananas. He didn't buy green bananas because he thought he might be gone before they became ripe enough to eat.
My friend obviously kept his focus on the end of his life. Maybe there is a lesson we can learn from this wise old man: keep your eyes focused on the day you will be leaving this earth. To most people, the thought of dying is unsettling, so we avoid thinking about it. A better plan is to prepare yourself for your final day here.
Make sure you have your bags packed for heaven. If you are not sure what to bring first, start with a pure heart, pure mind, and pure soul. Love the Lord with everything you have, and love those whom He has put in your life. This is the checklist for your final departure.
Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride.
