Ponder this. Are you drunk on electronic stuff? Perhaps you find yourself always desiring the latest that technology has to offer. It's interesting to observe how many actually camp out hours before store openings when a new or upgraded device hits the market. We never seem to have enough. Our cars talk to us, our phones talk to us, even our watches chime in. It's funny, it seems the more connected we are on the various communication platforms, the less we really know about one another.

But this doesn't stop us from wanting more and more stuff. We must ask ourselves: have our electronic devices enhanced our connection with others and with God, or have we allowed our devices to replace the need for communicating with God? If we find ourselves consumed with our phones, iPads, and computers—replacing one-on-one communications with God and others—it's time for a change.

Reserve time daily to connect with God the old-fashioned way, through silence and prayer. This is the best communication upgrade, this side of heaven.
