136 - Catholics Don_t Worship Statues

Ponder this.I have heard people say that Catholics worship idols because they have religious statues in their homes and churches, and we Christians know that idol worship goes against the very first commandment of God. This begs the question: are Catholics idol worshipers?

To answer this question, let's start by asking questions of your own life. Do you take pictures of people you love and want to remember? Do you display pictures of your family in your home, office, and on your electronic devices? Do you love sharing pictures of your loved ones with others?

As this demonstrates, we love to share pictures of our loved ones with others. In the same way, Catholics use images of Christ, the Blessed Mother, the saints, and angels as a way to inspire us to lead lives pleasing to God. Catholics don't worship statues. We venerate, honor, and remember those holy people who have led lives worthy for us to emulate.
