Ponder this. The topic of the end times comes up in conversations these days. Are we living in the end times? Is the world coming to an end soon? Will Christ be returning to gather the faithful next week, next month, or next millennium?

Some are proclaiming the end is near. I say: Fear not. Your life may not even make it until tomorrow. That’s right. There are no guarantees that we will live to see another day. This may sound ominous to many, but I say it to encourage everyone to be prepared every day for your eternal destiny.

You see, if we live each day as if it might be our last, we may live a more purposeful life. Loving and caring for others, as God has commanded us. As Sacred Scripture tells us, we know not the day nor the hour we will be called to judgment. Each one of us will be judged by the Lord, and unfortunately for many, it will not be by a jury of our peers.

We will be judged on how we have kept the commandments, especially the two great commandments: to love God and to love our neighbor. Plan for your final trial by living a life by God’s standards, not those of the world. Your eternal verdict awaits.
