44 - A Transformational Christmas

Ponder this. Have you ever noticed how Christmas comes the same time each year? It's always celebrated on December 25. However, from all appearances, it seems to take most people by surprise. There's always so much to do and so little time to do it. We always have someone we've inadvertently left off the Christmas list, time for more shopping. Or is it time for a transformational Christmas?

How do we transform our Christmas preparations and add more love and less stress and anxiety? It really starts with you. Suggest to family and friends to exchange non-tangible gifts—gifts of time, gifts of sharing meals, even gifts of prayer. Limit the gifts you give to your children, and suggest they give you non-tangible gifts as well, such as a promise to clean their rooms or mow the lawn each week.

I have to admit, the first year you implement the transformational Christmas requires the resolve not to give in to the cultural pressures around you. Pray to the Lord for perseverance. God wants you to focus on His only begotten Son on Christmas. A transformational Christmas may be your first step.
