The Yoke is on Him

Ponder this. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed with all the pressures and responsibilities of our daily life. The demands on our time at home, at work, and from the many other burdens we carry, weigh very heavy on us. Often, we become overwhelmed and unsure how we will even get through the day.
But Sacred Scripture tells us that the Lord’s yoke is easy and His burden is light. How can this be when our burden seems so heavy?
Think about a yoke for a moment. It’s a wooden beam that attaches two oxen together. The wooden beam actually represents the Cross of Christ and the many crosses we must carry. The two attached to this beam are each one of us and Christ. Just like the burden pulled by oxen, the burden we carry is never carried alone.
Christ is always with us in our trials and struggles in life. When we are too weak to pull the burden, Christ will do it all. He has, in fact, already accomplished the heavy lifting. We know that we are never alone in this life.
We must always allow our Lord to be with us in everything we do and to help lighten our load. Allow the Lord to carry your burdens.
