Ponder this. Are you uncomfortable talking about God and sharing your faith? Many, if not most, think that faith is a private matter. What does Sacred Scripture say about this? Well, let's take a look at the story in Luke's Gospel about the Virgin Mary. After the angel announces that she is pregnant with Jesus, do you remember what she did next? Mary went in haste to visit her cousin Elizabeth.

The point here is that Mary was literally filled with Jesus, and she had to go in haste and share Jesus with others. Mary could not contain Jesus to herself. The same is true for us today, 2,000 years later. If we are filled with the love of the Lord, we cannot keep Him to ourselves. We must share Him with others, just as Mary did when she first conceived Jesus in her womb. All of the baptized are called to share the joy of the Gospel with others, and we should never keep it to ourselves. It's not a private matter.
