Obedience Without Understanding

Ponder this. Do your parents or bosses ever put demands on you that seem unreasonable? Maybe your parents have imposed an unreasonable curfew, or your boss always insists on doing things his way.
Often, we do not understand why such rules and limitations are placed on us. Why can't we simply do whatever we want, when we want, especially if it doesn't impact anyone else? Why must we obey people in authority?
Limitations are placed on us, usually for our own good or out of love for us, in order to make us better people. Following the commands of those in authority builds character, discipline, and perseverance.
The Lord, too, has placed limitations on us that we may not like nor understand. Maybe, for example, we do not like nor understand that God has created us male and female. Why can't we just be whoever we want to be?
There are many things in this world that may not make sense, but whatever God has commanded, we are called to obey. Obedience to God's will, even without understanding, will produce many blessings in your life.
