Electronics-Free Zones

Ponder this. Have you noticed how dependent we are on our electronic devices? No matter where you go, most people are on their phones: texting, talking, or gaming. No matter what we are doing—eating, driving, even sleeping—we are always within fingers' reach of our phone. We seem to have attached ourselves to our cell phones in an unprecedented way.
But should it be this way? Maybe we should attach ourselves to something or someone, who will bring meaning to our lives. Maybe we can find joy in disconnecting from our electronic devices and making real connections with our family and friends. Maybe, just maybe, we should make connections with the Lord our God.
Consider today adopting electronics-free zones: all public places, electronics free. In the car with family, electronics free. Meals with others, electronics free. Quiet moments talking with God, electronics free.
Take these electronics-free zones to heart. Allow your heart to hear the voice of your family, friends, and God throughout each day. Turn off the electronics and tune in to others and to God.
